And My Answer To The Question was....
I was asked how many old comic albums/annuals I have.
Good question.
I have a good few from the 1950s -mainly Amalgamated Press and a "good few" from the 1960s up to the 1990s.
When it comes to my speciality field of Gerald Swan I have around 42 albums from 1942 onward.
I have two Bonzo annuals and two Steve The Horse ("Come On Steve") books.
Just counted and excluding Swan I have around 300 comic annuals.
WHY are you so nosy?? :-)
So there is my answer.
This does not include trade paperbacks, graphic novels, Titan Books, Dark Horse or other publishers hard/softcover books that probably total well over 400.

They Find Out Too Late
I was contacted today by a legal firm that acts in association with copyright agencies to prevent creators and publishers from being ripped off by illegal downloads. As "a noted creator" several of my books were noted on illegal download sites and so I was contacted.
Would I like them to try to track down the uploaders and forward information to me for further legal action?
Problems arose in that I was not the actual publisher and when it was pointed out who the publisher was I was told they had never received responses from him on this type of matter before. Wonder why.
I was told that there was no way to stop the illegal uploaders AND downloaders as they simply moved to other sites but constantly issuing warnings to their ISPs apparently made their task more a pain. I tried all of this in 2015-2016 and these uploaders are crooks -50p/50c a download payable to me and they had my permission. No, they ran and changed sites.
"At book cover price" I was told "This year illegal downloads stole $4,230,000 of your sales"
What did I do? I said "No thanks". Uploaders are thieving scum and would not even pay 50p/50c a download -I'd be happy with that and my financial problems would be solved. Oh, if you choose to illegally download books and STEAL from creators who need every penny to survive then you are a dirty, thieving piece of gutter shit.
I am getting too old to constantly chase these people down and report them while the thieving downloaders encourage them to continue their theft.
That $4,230,000 is NEVER going to come to me so I choose to ignore it. Theft in amongst 'comic fans' is rife -using copyrighted characters of other creators to create t-shirts, pins and other merchandise to sell AT comic conventions because "I'm just trying to earn some cash to pay the rent!" Because, obviously, these thieves cannot come up with their own original characters to sell and on Instagram their followers, despite being told it is theft, all offer to purchase illegal merchandise.
This is why I will NEVER offer pdf downloads from the online store. A good few people who sell online have stopped the download sales app having discovered that they are being uploaded to illegal download sites. Too late.
It might be a better idea for the FBI and other agencies to identify illegal downloaders and name and shame them.

Everything Now Uploaded to Comic Bits Online20
Although CBOs fate is more or less sealed due to financial problems I never say "never again" and with what I am learning about Google and its very possible plans for Blogger (getting rid of it) I have spent far more time on the internet (thanks to the laptop) than I want to.
Posts that appear here will also appear on the CBO WordPress site which now has everything transferred from here -actually far more posts than Blogger was stating which means I was right about there being more posts! It took from 19:00 hrs Saturday til 04:00 hrs Sunday but now it's done.
Pretty basic at the moment as none of the old widgets seem to exist now!

Golden Age Books and An Up-date On Pricing
Please note that the Ultimate Golden Age Collection cannot be reduced in price as it is sold at the bare minimum price.
And if there is one thing "Herr Professor" loves it is discovering and presenting long lost UK Golden Age (1939-1951) comic strips and characters from publishers such as Gerald Swan, Foldes, Denis M. Reader, Cartoon Art Productions and others.
Scanned and restored as best as can be considering the poor print quality of the rationing years -especially red, orange, yellow, blue and purple ink printing!
Ace Hart The Atomic Man! The Tornado! TNT Tom! Dene Vernon! Acromaid! Cat-Girl! Bring 'Em Back Hank! Robert Lovett:Back From The Dead and so many other action heroes and humour strip characters -William A. Ward, Jock McCaill and a host of known and unknown creators contribute -either in single volume "
Black Tower Gold" albums or all six collected into the 400+ pager -The Ultimate British Golden Age Collection!
The five separate volumes range from 68pp to 96pp each. For well over 5 years they have been ridiculously priced at £6.00 ($8.00) which meant there was nothing in the way of profit or compensating for the amount of time and work put into each. And guess what? Absolutely no copies sold. For that reason I have had to price them (still cheap) adequately so that they are each £8.00 ($10.00). That still means you are getting better quality reproductions for far less money than an 8 pager or 12 pager comic from this period that may be moldy, torn or almost unreadable.
This is business.

Black Tower Super Heroes
Black Tower Super Heroes is/was/may be the title following on from the British Golden Age collections. It is a mix of GA/SA and new strips.
Issue 1 was out years ago. Issues 2-8 were completed 3 years ago but lack of finances mean they cannot be pdf converted and if no pdf...no book online.
Some changes have been made but these were the preliminary covers.
Now I shall give way to the Hon Lord Arthritic Hand,MP
