Captain Biplane Returns!!

If you were around in the 1980s-early 1990s, and if you were a zinie, then it is quite possible that you saw a zine titled BRAQUE?

Produced by the Panel Polishers of John “Sepp” Schiltz who contributed Thymus and Brian “Bib” Edwards.  Now, Bib’s contribution was the alternative interplanetary adventures of Captain Biplane.

Really fun is about the best way to describe the Captain Biplane series.  I think that the cover to the left shows that.

In fact, Captain Biplane is near legendary amongst those old greying men who shuffle about and tell tales of “The Golden Age of the Small Press.”

Now you -yes, you- can begin reading the adventures online. So, bookmark this link:

Sit back and read of the future where dirigibles and biplanes travel the interplanetary highway and where you should never listen to a Boarman beckoning you over to some dark alley with the words: “Hoy, Mate -wanna see something interesting?”

  1. I tried to think of a comment that involved your feed line at the end and Bib would have loved my answer , laughing loud and joyously , but it would have been a spoiler for an event in the strip . I can hear his laugh now . I miss you old friend .

    1. Well , anyone else trying and . . . well , it just wouldn't be Bib's . Nobody could get the spirit of the strip right . One reason that I've not bought any of the non-Eisner Spirits . Bib had his own universe , created it's rules and a great deal of love for his pet subject , aircraft , went into it all .
