Gillen and McKelvie launch The Wicked and The Divine - exclusive variant Forbidden Planet Cover

Writer Kieron Gillen and artist Jamie McKelvie launch their new comic, The Wicked & The Divine - with an exclusive Forbidden Planet variant cover, at the our London Megastore at 6:00pm on Wednesday 18th June.

Every ninety years, twelve gods incarnate as teenagers. They are loved. They are hated. In two years, they are dead.

The team behind critically thermonuclear floor-fillers Young Avengers and Phonogram reunite to start a new ongoing superhero fantasy with a beautiful oversized issue. Welcome to The Wicked & The Divine, where gods are the ultimate pop-stars. But remember: just because you're immortal, doesn't mean you're going to live forever.

Kieron Gillen came to attention as a comic writer with his collaboration with Jamie McKelvie, Phonogram. Since then, he's worked for publishers including Marvel, Image and Avatar, on books as varied as Iron Man, Uber, THREE, Thor, Journey Into Mystery, Uncanny X-Men and a load more. He reunited with Jamie for several projects, most notably Phonogram: The Singles Club and Young Avengers. His achievements include not being found out.

Jamie McKelvie came to attention as a comic artist with his collaboration with Kieron Gillen, Phonogram. Since then he's worked as a comic artist, illustrator and costume designer. The mind behind modern iconic designs like Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Miss America, his comic work includes a run on Defenders with Matt Fraction and the critically adored Young Avengers. His achievements include putting up with Kieron for over a decade.
