I am sorry and shocked to see this post, Terry. My deepest sympathies. I sent an e-mail, but I still can't think what else to say. Please take great care and pass on my condolences to the family.
My niece, whom I am VERY proud of, has dealt with everything (she was down as next of kin) but she explained it all on Face Book:
"3am friday morning had a police visit after mum had a seizure and fell down the stairs. When she hit her head her brain swelled too much and she stayed unconscious and on breathing support. At 5am this morning they turned the breathing support off and her heart finally stopped beating at around about 10 hours later.
Had a trek to Bristol on friday after dropping the kids off and getting a train and bus to the hospital and didnt rest til gone 8pm. Alot to think about and organize but at least I know she wanted to be cremated and that she wasnt aware of anything. When I saw her I knew she wasnt there anymore. She had her problems and health issues and we'd just started to get back in touch and get along again. Im just thankful she met Jamie and Leo and all her problems are gone.
She was only 51 but you never know whats going to happen. No one has to comment on this just like if you have to and if you see me dont mention it much. Just wanted to get it out and write things down x"
Too many deaths recently and even my older brother called me the Harbinger of Death. Back tomorrow if this cold lets me (diabetes means a cold =flu!)
In your conversations with me, when she was young, she always came across as a very mature, responsible girl. I can imagine how proud you are of her coping with this difficult time. please can you send my regards and condolences when you next speak. Please just tell her how sorry I am that this has happened.
Only just found out, Tel. I've lost a helluva lot of family members and relatives in the last 7 years myself, so I know what you're going through. My best wishes to you and the rest of the Hooper-Scharf clan.
My condolences, Terry.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences, too. 50 is far too young to pass on. Take care of yourself and your family, Terry. My wife and daughter pass on their sympathies, too.
