'Wonder Woman' Will Be "Pretty Dark".....oh joy.

They just do not get it, do they?  The whole point of the super hero was that they were there to inspire, entertain and give us escape from the dark times.

We are currently going through pretty nasty and dark times so what do the comics give us? Nasty, darkness.  And the movies?  Dark, depressing viewing.

The Marvel franchise seems to understand the drama-humour-fun balance but DC..."pretty dark".

Feck.

Gal Gadot Says That 'Wonder Woman' Will Be "Pretty Dark"

Despite the fact that it continues to bring in the cash (even though sales plunged during its second week), we know by now that Superman v Batman wasn't all that good. Nevertheless, one of the best things about the superhero flick was Gal Gadot's debut as Wonder Woman. Although we won't being seeing the famed Amazon princess in her own film until the summer 2017, Gadot has fortunately spoken up about her upcoming movie, promising that it's going to be "pretty dark."

It's a characteristic that's been applied to both Superman v Batman and its predecessor Man of Steel before. It's also an attribute that's been given to superhero movies in general as of late, perhaps in an attempt to make us take them more seriously. Hopefully in this case, however, "pretty dark" won't mean dull for Wonder Woman. Speaking to Digital Spy about the movie, Gadot said:
In Batman v Superman, you get a glimpse of who she is but not where she comes from. In Wonder Woman, this would be the first time we ever tell the coming-of-age story of how Diana becomes Wonder Woman. It’s very interesting. It has moments of humor, but it’s pretty dark.
Directed by Patty Jenkins, who directed Charlize Theron in her Oscar-winning performance in Monster, Wonder Woman will be the origin story of Diana Prince, an immortal Amazon princess. The film also stars Chris Pine as her love interest, Lucy Davis, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright. Wonder Woman not only marks the first time a woman leads a superhero film, but it's also the first DC Comics adaptation to be directed by a woman. So at least we're guaranteed something different.

                                     ***********************************
No, we're not guaranteed something "different" -the article says "pretty dark" which sums up the DC movies to date.  Do they read what they are writing or is it all PR quotes?
