Posted yesterday morning on the Black Tower Face Book page and up-dated today.
Wow...and the UK must have seen what I wrote! :-) The UK has not appeared this high up in views for...a VERY long time!
I was asked about the audience (readers as we used to call
them) for CBO. Since I use Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and so on who was
attracted to the site?
Well, I have said this before; the main audience for CBO has
always been USA , Russia , Ukraine ,
France and Germany -I post this info usually
once a month on CBO.
The UK
can come 5th, 7th or even 10th -Bulgaria ,
Chechia (former Czech
Republic ) and other
countries filling in the top ten places.
It's rare for the UK to get into the top 5 views
sources.
I checked the Anomalous Observational Phenomena blog as well
as the Zine Zone blog. Same wide spread of readers with the UK pretty low
down on the list. With the AOP blog the UK
is 9th with Bulgaria 8th and
Spain
10th.
Yes, it does seem almost unbelievable that what others have
called the UKs biggest comic blog (a few million views points to that) attracts
views from every country in the world yet struggles to get UK views.
Same applies with the Zine Zone and AOP blogs.
You can really only put it down to people in the UK not
having enquiring minds or any real interest in anything unless it is a free
download or Marvel or DC.
I have gone over this many times and just stopped worrying!
I also stopped worrying why thousands visit CBO and see the
Black Tower books posts (maximum views for one of these posts in 2017 was 3454)
yet none buys a copy of even the cheapest book.
The thing is even libraries are finding that Millennials do
not like to get up and go visit a library and borrow books. These are the same
Millennials who will eat meat but have to have "straight to pan
packages" because they suffer anxiety and panic attacks if they have to
touch meat.
"We need more home grown, British comics -super heroes,
sci fi, horror!" I read on so many groups. Send the link to just such
books...nothing. Some times they'll even delete your reply without comment.
The books are there but, sadly, Romero's Children are not
the audience.
Note that the UK and British Golden Age blogs are not included as I made those private following so much of my original research being stolen from there and no credit given. Now you want the info -buy the books.
Also note that after months the Paypal Donate button is gone -no one donated so why waste space.
