Patreon or....not?

This evening, other than scanning and cleaning the 40pp for Johnny Neg by Ben Dilworth, I took a look at Patreon as a couple people suggested. The aim was to see whether it might help fund CBO and keep it going since its continuation means I need to at least make some money.

CBO was designed to provide articles and other comic book or comic book related content. With over 7 million views you might think some past appeals or even the PayPal me link to the right have achieved something. It never did.

People "use" -crediting or simply pinching- CBO posts and if you check online you'll find a lot of these sites which generate thousands of views of re-posted (credited) CBO items.

There is virtually no country in the world that has not appeared in the daily Audience views list. No one comments. Certainly no one buys books. Yet readers return time and time again.  Does this mean that CBO is still popular? Yes, it does.

But I do not get paid so what is the alternative?  Fill the page with adverts to get income -the type of thing I have avoided to make sure visitors get uninterrupted content because the last thing we all want to see are ads popping up everywhere (ads that your pop-up blocker won't stop because they are content).

Comic Bits Online content is meant to be free to everyone so offering people "exclusive content" if they pay $5 a month does not appeal to me. Everyone should see the content.

All the things I have looked at interfere with what CBO does/is.

Therefore, if you want to see CBO continue you can either buy Black Tower books and then you get something for your money or (if you can) you could donate via the PayPal me link to the right.

Please consider one of the above methods to help support and keep CBO going.  Thank you.

  2. You mean beardy hat buy with black trench coat? "The Prof" This is that no one really knows his real name and, oh yeah, you better make it a prequel story to Green Skies.....people die in that book. Weekend? ah...it's Friday. Working on books so days make no difference to me! Take care.
