He has allies, but which ones can he truly trust to guide him through the perils and enchantments of the Middle East …? Our second title brings the first narrative arc of The Bank to a close. Fate is not kind to all the characters, and bitter rivalries and conflicts are still the order of the day. But as a nation begins to throw itself into the industrial revolution, fortunes are made and lost, and the torch can pass to the next generation after this book. Closure or foreclosure …?
