The two Galaxity agents’ investigation into the elemental forces appearing on Earth continues.

While Laureline, dogged and efficient, follows a promising lead somewhere in outer space, Valerian is struggling to unravel the mysterious events plaguing our 20th century. Demonstrations of fantastic phenomena follow in quick succession, pushing poor Valerian to his limits.

And matters will have to be settled simultaneously in New York and on an asteroid on the edge of the galaxy to save our world...

I like this.  The colour quality and production does make you want to keep re-reading this book and the fact that I've never seen this story before is a great bonus.  And there is a surprise as Laureline does her "Emma Peel in the Hell Fire Club" costume proud (if you've watched the 1960s TV series The Avengers or Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone in Germany, you'll know what I mean!) -the series gets sexy!!

Don't panic, though, you will not go bettroot red in front of the kids though the dialogue is stronger than I remember so the Cinebook editions have made me look at the series in a new light.

Highly recommended.

  1. I read a few day ago that the episode A TOUCH OF BRIMSTONE was not shown in America when the series first aired.

    1. Now, does that surprise me? I haven't seen it in a long time. Wasn't it Peter Wyngarde who ended up in the pit after Emma thrashed him?

  2. Lovely to see these in translation to English. However, I shall retain the French hardback versions whilst buying these Cinebooks, as I have done for other series like Tin Tin, Asterix and Lucky Luke. They are just too special to me to get rid of.
