Welcome to a high-octane month of May, full of rip-roaring adventures, exciting motorised pursuits and the howling of engines and canines alike! First, we have our second volume of Rin Tin Can, and the dumbest and funniest pooch in the Old West returns with a new series of dog-made disasters to unleash on those humans foolish enough to associate with him. This time, the loyal and righteous guardian of law and order ends up being mistaken for a crime boss! Oh, dear … Next up are Spirou & Fantasio. Follow them as an encounter with a genius Russian scientist and his phenomenal invention sends them from the Champignac countryside to the plains and valleys of China on a rescue mission. Mad science, spy shenanigans, a Marsupilami in fine form … and, yes, even a nice bit of motorised mayhem for good measure – Franquin at his best! Finally, there’s no shortage of four-wheeled fun and drama in Michel Vaillant – Legendary Races. This time, we find our driver friend preparing to face the Monaco Grand Prix, never an easy prospect, but made all the worse by a string of failures and the ensuing bout of insecurity. Don’t worry, though. Even Michel’s soul-searching moments are mostly excuses for Vincent Dutreuil to give free rein to his talent for capturing the essence of movement and speed. There’s action on the track and off it – what more could anyone ask for? May with Cinebook – firing on all cylinders! |
