PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.
Thank You

Uncle Tel’s Corner –A Couple Comic Related Questions

First one:
Q: “Why do you say “comickers”?”
A: It’s an old term, I think back to the 1920s (?) referring to those reading/working in comics.
Q: “You’ve written a few times about ‘comic sets’ -what do you mean?”
A: In the old days the artwork for comics was cut into wooden blocks.  These were sets of blocks -”comic sets”.
Q: “Why did/do comics have everything in capital letters?”
A: Do they still do that? It was necessary at one time because of the machines used in cheap printing so everything was capitalised for extra clarity. No reason to still be doing that!
