Someone said that I must have a lot of memorabilia and photos from the old UK comic conventions.
Well I do have some photos but none of me posed with the, uh, 'stars'. From the old UK Comic Art Conventions I do have the art filled A4 programmes which were quite dense. I think I also have most of the Bristol International Comic Expo programmes -some the organiser doesn't even have.
If I ever get a working scanner I'll scan off some of the BICE ones.
You have to remember that, unlike many pros, I was visiting these events as part of work not a weekend booze and "substance" session. Work pure and simple.
Oh I chatted to publishers and pros as well as small pressers and guests. I even once, in a crowded room, won a Manga porn comic -that had Paul Gravett chuckling away for reasons we won't go into here.
Always fun talking to Aldous and G as well as Olivier Cadic at the Cinebook tables and I will admit the most fun I had at these events was talking to the 'civilans' -proper comic fans.
