I only discovered today that You Tubers and bloggers are just jumping in on topics I posted about over 10 years ago including the "evil of Disney" and the question of over pricing comic books and how to draw readers back in.
In fact the bulk of those posts were 2014/2015 when I wrapped up the subjects. What is more interesting is the fact that a lot of the recent "Late-to-jump-on-the-bandwagon" folk do not know much about comic book history or how comics work.
It's all click-bait titles and I am so done with Comicsgate and Ya Boy Zack and all the loud, confrontational You Tubers. The more arguments and name-calling by certain people may well get them more views and that YT money but what are they doing or achieving? Making comics a less friendly place?
Let's face it the alternative to these You Tubers are the hype-up people who will tell you how they got a "rare" comic off someone at a low price and how they can flip it for $240 -flashing up some Ebay overpriced sale. I kept tally in 2021 of the big "comic investor" YT predictions. None have actually been accurate and in point of fact some of the comics they over hyped have crashed in price.
Buy comics. Read comics. Enjoy them and the escapism they bring. Comics should be fun.
Amen to that. Make comics fun, and make fun comics !
