PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.

Did I Submit Ideas To Archie Comics?

I do have the first 6 issues of Archie Comics 1960s run of The Mighty Crusaders -7 was a solo Steel Sterling adventure. I also have a nice set of Adventures of the Fly/Fly-Man, Jaguar and The Shadow.  I also have complete sets of the 1980s Red Circle imprint and the DC Impact Comics run.

I mention this as I was chatting to someone online (I rarely do that) but I was asked if I had ever considered submitting a series idea to Archie?  I think I covered this before but, yes, I did. As far as I found out there was interest from one faction but another faction (go into the company's history you'll see what I mean) said no.

It was interesting at one point when I was told the reprint of The Mighty6 Crusaders for the Middle East did not sell at all. I asked what they called the series? "The Mighty Crusaders" I was told

hmm. Wonder why a comic titled "Mighty CRUSADERS" did not go down well in the Middle East?

Anyway, my idea was based on using the characters IN the 1960s when the team originated but having various other characters crop up (ala Too Many Super Heroes https://hoopercomicart.blogspot.com/2017/04/the-return-of-too-many-super-heroes.html

I am not going to give the story ideas away but it would have been fun and it is yet another project that simply slipped away.
