PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.
Thank You

BCExpo looks to the Future.

Apparently, this was posted on 15th August on the Bristol Expo Face Book page which I'm not on. Having been one of its biggest supporters and pimpers since the event started you might think someone would remember "that bearded bloke with that blog".

I just give up.

As many of you will have seen on the national news, Bristol’s Temple Meads Station is undergoing a massive £100m re-development over the next 4 years as the hub of the governments new high speed electric rail link, which includes the conversion of the old railway shed into the main platform and entrance to the terminal. With preliminary work already underway, having closed the main entrance and further building work to begin at the start of 2014 we regret to say that the venue is no longer available to us.

The Expo has enjoyed great success at the shed and while the venue will be missed it does open up new possibilities for the Bristol show!

We received some fantastic feedback from our guests, exhibitors and visitors this year, on what you enjoyed, what you didn’t and what you would like for the future and Team Expo is now moving forward to make those requests happen!

We are delighted to announce therefore, that we have entered into a long-term agreement with the Future Inn Cabot Circus Conference Centre & hotel, a purpose built facility as part of the Cabot Circus development, directly in the heart of Bristol to bring you not one, but two Expo’s every year!!

BCExpo will be back as always for its 15th year on the 2nd weekend of May 2014 bringing the best of the international and independent comic world to the south west along with our usual mix of pop-culture, sci-fi, fantasy and gaming.

Our first guests will be announced shortly along with events listings and times and exhibitor booking will be open next week (please get in touch for more details).

Adding to that, we are pleased to announce the first ever South West Anime and Gaming expo will be held on the first weekend of October 2014!

SWAG expo will be celebrating our love for all things from the Far East, showcasing all the best in Anime, Manga, Music and Cosplay with special guests and events all weekend.

Adding to this our new free play gaming zone with modern and retro competitions and tournaments for big cash prizes* throughout the expo!!
