PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.

CBO Comic Strip: First Time In OVER 60 years -Slicksure Returns!

Harry Edgar Banger was a Platignum and Golden Ages -even Silver age- comic creator.  Like others he had to write his scripts and draw them.  Humour was his mainstay but with Slicksure he tried to combine humour and serious story-telling such as in the later.......The Terror Of Grimstone Castle!!

You can see that here:

And now, in 2015, a previously untold story of Slicksure while on a previously undisclosed case  brought to you by the much revived STRANSKY & LABATT!!!

  1. Hey Terry, glad you got the comics ahead of time - I hope you enjoyed them ( although one was, in truth a half comic, but there you go ) - the spy article from the news paper is interesting isn't it ? A piece of forgotten history. Anyway, one piece of good news from here is that package #2 the one I should have sent for New Year is getting ready - 90% finished. Now this you will enjoy. A small note about the Slicksure one page: it's set in London. The dialogue is a bit American simply because I like the name 'Diamond Lil' and that seemed a bit New Yorkish. Anyway - there you go - Big Ben in the background HoHo. Anyway - let's hope a few people check out ol' Slicksure. The Kingsmen popup ads look interesting, and I was amused to see the hashtag #mannersmakethman applied to it. I used that same phrase for the colour Purple Hood I did -but I used the proper one, with the odd old spelling 'Manners Mayketh Man'. Anyway. As for being Charlie Negative about the new Fantastic Four - nah. That's Norman Negative and Charlie Churlish... a great old stand -up comedy duo. Who knows -the story may just surprise you. Let's hope so. I'm betting on; they went to a new dimension and found Galactacus, and he was the one who warped them ( like the Sliver Surfer ) and tried to make them into his hearalds sending them ahead of him into this world... but... ah... humans... too unruly. I think that's going to be the plot - no ? Well, let's wait and see. We all know it's not the Marvel Silver Age FF -so let's just wait. It's a pity ( like Godzilla ) they couldn't call it something else. Anyway - time to send before anything goes wrong.

  2. Yeah, I realised it was London AFTER posting but I'm old. Oddly, "Diamond Lil" is head of a gang I referred to as from 1940s London!!!! Kingsmen pop-up??? Not on my site. It must be an ad coming through at your end as I have NO advertising on CBO (it never paid). Kingsman book I did review a while back. Not too bad as a spy comic went but borrowed from so many sources. "Never been a super spy from a working class background" one person wrote. Bollocks Harry Palmer -played by Michael Caine in The Ipcress File, Funeral In Berlin and The Billion Dollar Brain -and three(?) TV movies including Bullet To Beijing. Working class as old arseholes.
Fantastic Four they are trying to employ "another parallel" ploy with so if it bombs (I hope it does) they can, uh, reboot again.
I'm currently finishing my letter to you. Oh, those Purple Hood pages look GOOD. Sad news about A Purple Hood in Green Skies.
