Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. The first three issues of Reverend Cross have sold out but have been collected  into a new trade paperback version  with 25 pages of brand new Reverend Cross action.  It's available to buy now of course  and it has a specially commissioned cover by Vince (Harker/Clock Strikes!) Danks. With art and stories by Atlantisvampir, Jason Dennis, Gabrielle Noble, Patrick O'Connor, Andrew Richmond, John A. Short and Grant Springford!

Reverend Abigail Cross  the first ever female vicar action hero. Licensed by the Church of England to kick demon ass! This collection contains 12 stories... 4 of them new! Hitler has escaped from Hell and only Cross can stop him!

Art by Gabby Noble -she brought us Oktobriana versus Wladimir Putin so why not Cross versus Hitler? Incredibly Noble's art is getting even better.
Art by Andy Richmond
Art by Patrick O'Connor -art wise this is probably the weaker of the strips but still good fun.
Art by Jason Dennis -the art here is lovely. The character designs look good and the composition -spot on.
Art by Atlantisvampir -first thing I thought was "Manga". The whole point of an anthology comic is that you get strips drawn by different artists and so this fits in well and if I complain its because I want to...overall it is not that bad.
Art by Grant Springford -first thought: "It looks like an animation cell. Is that bad? No. What it shows is that the mix of artists works and the page above is a lot better than some Marvel Comics art I've seen over recent years (and I am not kidding).
Full contents (art by Jason Dennis) -it's a contents page. Nothing spectacular but it works and white lettering on black background does work and is more eye-catching than just black on white (I'll get "Woked" for that!).

Is it a good package (as we publishers call it)? Yes, the mix works and you get 100 pages so not bad  at all. The glue binding everything together (get me!) is John Short and his stories and scripts. They have the right pacing of action and a good smattering of tongue-in-cheek gags that Roger Moore would have loved as James Bond.

Short does one thing that the pretentious artistic babbies do not understand ("I'm waiting for the HBO TV series offer!") and that is that comics are fun. Entertainment. In the world we live in escapism is something we need and this is what Short has been doing: creating good fun and entertainment. Believe me if this was bovine excrement I would not be pulling any literary punches.
