“American and British soldiers find themselves in Taliban-controlled mountains, hunted by the murderous undead! Think The Walking Dead meets Black Hawk Down!Three American soldiers, the survivors of a helicopter crash in Afghanistan, struggle across the Taliban-controlled mountains. Injured and lacking food, water, and medicine, they discover something far worse than enemy fighters among the sun-bleached rocks: an ancient supernatural power, murderous and unstoppable.

Despite a timely rescue by a handful of British S.A.S. troopers, they’re still hopelessly outnumbered by the shambling, ragged undead and the evil human intelligence that controls them.

Critically acclaimed graphic novelist Garth Ennis and horror master Mike Wolfer rip the horrors of war right from today’s headlines and thrust it beyond the boundaries of sanity.”

To be honest the book states “original story by Garth Ennis. Script & Art Mike Wolfer” so how far off Ennis’ idea this is who knows?

The art…nothing wrong with it really but I have to laugh out loud. All the nasty violence and things going on and…they have to cover a man’s penis with a shadow??? Seriously? This is a hard horror comic??  A little boy has his limbs ripped off of him but let’s not go too far and show a willy!! Pathetic.

Anyway, everyone knows I’m a horror comic/film buff –the old silents, talkies and later Hammer and newer stuff so maybe I’m getting a bit jaded? However, there is nothing really new here –in fact it reminds me of two Syfy channel movies combined. And, like Syfy ‘horror’ movies, this wont get you over excited or over-thinking. It’s pretty standard game.
