PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.
Thank You

Maybe I Should Never Check Stats and the "Internet Growth" Lie

Just looking at the stats and it seems the 2011 David Gordon interview has not moved from the second most viewed post on CBO ever with 38, 900 views,  Despite this it appears there has been no rush to buy his work -what is wrong with you people? The Cosmic Oddity alone deserves an Eisner Award!!  https://hoopercomicart.blogspot.com/2011/02/blog-post.html

So what is the top all time viewed post? With 92, 907 views and from the 12th December 2013...

The Green Skies

That was it just the title and image. Every Green Skies post has had high views but so far no one is buying a copy. Why?

您好!or "Hello!" to our Chinese readers has had over 80,000 views.

Because CBO has an international audience the posts of Phillipines comics, Tong Wong, Hong Kong comics and Manhua, Manhwa and Manga receive most hits followed by the looks at old comics, obscure characters, Black Tower Comics and Cinebook the 9th Art is always in the top ten of weekly views -at the moment Hexagon Comic posts are dominant.

What does this all mean? Basically, people want toread comic related things without being treated as dummies who believe everything they are told without question and are not turned on by all the arguing and name calling that blogs seem to descend into. It is a world wide audience in every sense of the word. China features prominently (stats not from Blogger which excludes the PRC) and the United States. I have posted countries and views before so you can check those.

What it also means is that the 4 million plus (Blogger stats whilethereal figure is 8.9 million views) readers of CBO....don't care to comment, support or even buy books of mine, David Gordons or others yetthe bigger companioes such as Titan, Cinebook etc do see sales increases -the review of The Secret Service -Kinsman from Titan Books was first posted in 2014 and is still being viewed in 2021 -check out the Popular Posts bar to the right.  Reviews of Titans Tarzan books are still popular and have been used by other bloggers.

With printing world wide at local prices and at local postal rates why has David Gordon not been getting sales of of the 90 odd thousand post readers. Views of Black Tower Comics and Books post are well past one million -who's buying?? Or better question: why are people not buying?

What we are seeing here is the modern lie in action: "You want to sell you need to get onto the internet -its global and people will buy most anything!" Face Book pulled that one. Even Google and a lot of others. From 1999-2020 I have worked day and night, 7 days a week and used all "social media" and followed all the expert advice.     I have NOT been making money and certainly not enough to pay bills.

I could go the route of other bloggers and just post daily girly photos and think "stuff them!" about readers in other countries. I do not. CBO is a "safe site".  What I do is I close pages like Face Book. I close blogs -two more non comic related ones just closed and the AOP Blog is scheduledto go in May because after over one decade and thousands of views it has achieved nothing -not even comments.

So, if any of the couple of thousand popping by each day wants to keep CBO going...buy a book. Donate. My time is getting more precious as I get older and I am not going to do this as a hobby for long.

Maybe I should never check stats?
