Just look at those assembled Avengers. And their foes -The Twilight Court. This is going to be 20 pages (yeah, for the price we pay today we are reduced to 20pp but loads of advert pages). Anyway, I sat down. It was 0200hrs and I decided that it was time to get my fill.
That is where things went wrong. What we have here is 20pp of talk. It got very tedious very fast especially with bad characterisation and dialogue. Oh -and there are no Avengers seen in the book. Nothing new there as this run has seen the team limited to solo action or one or two members only. It's been one of the worse runs to date and I do wonder if this is deliberate to run the title down so that when the new writer (you know whop) moves in anything will seem better.
Nothing wrong with the artwork it's just poor writing with no real idea or plan. The Avengers are a team not one particular member (mainly Black Panther who is a sociopath these days like most Marvel characters).
As someone who has read the title since the 1960s I can pinpoint the exact moment in the 1990s when everything went to crap.
Just very disappointed.
