Thor: Love & Thunder and Ant-Man-Wasp: Quantumania

So bored and needed to de-stress last night so I watched two DVDs: Thor Love and Thunder and Ant Man and The Wasp Quantumania.

I cannot tell you how I struggled with watching the 'Thor' movie or the number of times I wanted to just stop it and watch something else. It had a good, serious storyline with the God Butcher. The film started dramatically and I thought "Oh. This is going to be good!" It then went into that awful comedy crap. It wasn't funny and Thor came off as a character to not take seriously. And the visit to see Zeus and the other gods was, well, a joke in itself as all the gods (and people know how I feel about gods) were comedic -how the hell does that show that these are the people Thor wanted to recruit to fight the God Butcher??
Here is the problem: Christian Bale has been praised for his role in the movie as Gorr. Too right since he was the only one really acting and gave a good performance. There was a good story hiding in this dregs of a cess-pit but the drama just did not work BECAUSE that idiot behind the film wanted to turn it into a comedy and cram it as full of as much virtue signalling as he could. It was a mess and at least Thor: Ragnarok had some redeeming features.
This DVD will go on the pile to gather digital dust along with the other Marvel "watch once then disregard" movie The Eternals.
Again, that film had elements that were good but it was quite literally just a virtue signalling flagship that sank. No good paying good actors if you give them a script and then turn the movie to crap that is unwatchable. And Harry (over hyped) Styles as Eros at the end had me saying "no more" (Styles of course is the champion of virtue signalling because it gets him noticed and sells his C side quality songs. But....women are are going to be swooning over him and men admire (and undoubtedly swoon)? **** off.

I really did not want to watch Ant-Man after that. Ant-Man has (for some reason) after all been the main "humour" character in the MCU but...teeth gritted I pressed "Play".
Wow.

The funny as expected start but after that story, sub-plot and great characterisation and acting and I even accepted and intently watched the (virtue signalling) 'black' Kang the Conqueror -Jonathan Majors who gave a great performance and as far as I am concerned in the MCU he IS Kang.
I sat there after the film ended and just asked myself how the "silly character" got the best movie, storyline and acting while the formerly serious character (Thor) was utter crap?
Taika David Cohen (aka Taika Waititi) seemed to have free reign to destroy the Thor franchise and the glimpse at the end of a WWE style Hercules just left me thinking "so what?". "Thor will return" it said at the end. If Waititi is behind it...not on my DVD player! Besides since then Hemsworth has said he is stepping back from the franchise and a lot of other work so..

And in any case my interest in the character is now diminished. Thanks Mr Cohen.
I would recommend the Ant-Man and The Wasp movie but Thor: Love and Thunder -leave it until someone needs something to vomit on.
