Well I promised that once I received the sets I would take a look at them and I love them! The Werewolves set seems to have box art inspired by a certain movie....
As with all Dark Alliance and Red Box sets the rear of the box shows you the figures you will find inside so you cannot say you are surprised or disappointed. Hey, look at those two bottom left. Quite sure I've seen them somewhere.
All of the boxes contain a baggy with all the circular sprues inside. I often wonder whether if a company had all of the figures removed and placed in the sealed bags whether the plastic sprue could be used for further sets?
Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsalefrom the movie Van Helsing (2004) see.....
"Oh, you are wrong there, Terry" I hear you say so....
I would never have been able to get good shots like this with the old camera but as you can see lots of nice detail for 1/72nd scale or 20-25mm or 1 inch tall figures.
This is a typical sprue/ Four in a box each with 12 figures. It means that you will get four of each figure which is not bad when it comes to the werewolves but do we need 4 Hugh Jackmans and Kate Beckinsales?Above: front and back of the figures and beloiw how it all looks unpacked.
Which brings us around to the second set -Vampires! The front of the box shows us a traditional Christopher Lee like Dracula and I am quite sure that the female is based on Ingrid Pitt from Countess Dracula (1971). The other fella is undoubtedly Max Schrek's Count Orlok from the first movie based on Stoker's Dracula (long story but Dracula was renamed Orlok) -Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (German: Nosferatu – Eine Symphonie des Grauens)
Back of the box showing what you get including one victim -last figure second row. And, oh, look who else is in the set!
Above the sprue. Rivetting, ain't it?
There you have him -the vampire about to strike and...Cor blimey, guv'nor -is that who I think it is next to him? yes the inspiration for Dracula -Vlad Tepes, "Dracul" or "Vlad the Impaler"!
The figures in both sets could be used for a period from the 19th right up to modern times if you are a gamer or even a diorama builder.
Now, war gamers absolutely loathe "fantasy" elements in sets. I mention this because Lucky Toys produced a set of 1/72nd figures -box shown below.
Oooh, look: third one along Vlad Tepes All perfectly acceptable to a war gamer but then the inclusion that curdled boiling blood.....
A very nicely detailed sculpt of a movie style Dracula. The company obviously thought it might raise smiles rather than hackles! Love it myself and it made me laugh when I found it on the sprue. I believe this set is still available.
But we ain't done yet, baby. Caesar Miniatures produce sets covering many periods and even included fantasy sets. One of these was Undead -box below.
Within the set are two vampires -this set came out long after the Lucky Toys set but they are nice a detailed (this image from Plastic Soldier Review) which looks at the fantasy sets.
Above: just a vampire couple waiting for a night out...or maybe eat in...that new house maid looks delicious!
Above: a Rabbi and a Golem.
Above my only werewolf before and a mummy. -however, Dark Alliance has relkeased an Egyptian Mummy set -

just some teenagers and their dog. What? They look like who?
Elheim also give you a selection of vampire ladies covering various cultures and periods. Sorry, lads (and ladies) no necking allowed!
Solo gaming can be boring but mix things up and fun ensues! Elheim produce other figures and I have to admit that the feel of metal figures in hand is nostalgic. Check them out (mention that you were sent over by me) over at https://elhiem.co.uk/ourshop
