Seems a lot is happening in the gaming and figurines world. Good for them. It looks like fun. Wish something was happening in the comics world..... But such is life.... I wish I had something to do.... Ah well. TTFN.Take it easy Terry.
ReplyDeleteSadly the people reading comics today are not as willing to try anything other than the DC, Marvel and Image comics they see promoted every day of the week online. If they are "into comics" then they MUST buy what they are told even if in 6 months it will be rebooted and changed -its done so often now that people reading comics are pointing out "this story was done before" but they are in their 20s or only got into comics 5 years ago and have no idea it has been done over and over again since mainstream comics died in the early 1990s. Only movies are bringing in the real money and the comics are "disposable merchandise".Comic shops will not take independent books unless pushed by the distributor (and Diamond is gone now) but some will do the "Send us copies of your best three books and we'll see if they sell and then order more if they do and after that we'll decide how much we want to pay you" and they can feck right off. I think the big comic cons that are now cosplay and toys, games and non comic promoting are well over priced for a table -maybe a one day old style comic mart? But I draw what I enjoy and if anyone buys it I'll be happy! If you can draw then try it because it relaxes and distracts the brain.
