The TV future of The Walking Dead has been confirmed, following the end of the comic series after 193 issues this month.
In the final pages of issue #193, creator Robert Kirkman acknowledged that the unexpected ending of the comic series may frustrate some fans, but explained that it was something necessary to be done.

"In a way, killing this series has been a lot like killing a major character," Kirkman wrote. "Much, much harder… but the same feeling. I don't want to do it. I'd rather keep going.
"But the story is telling me what it wants and what it needs. This needs to happen. Whether I want it or not."
However, even though the comic series served as a basis for the TV adaptation, AMC's show has moved on from its original source, making a number of changes during its nine seasons so far.
While protagonist Rick Grimes gets murdered in the comic books, the TV version of the character will remain alive as he will be getting his own spin-off movie.
And AMC has now explained in a statement: "This extraordinary comic created a world that already lives in multiple forms, and in the hearts and minds of millions of fans around the world, and will for many years to come."
