A Word
Right now is the best time you will ever get to expand your knowledge and find out about things you might normally ignore.
Indie film-mkers are stuck indoors like most people with a brain. Some are taking the opportunity to develop their skills and some are putting work online for free. People like Dan Bell and I am sure you know of others -if you do then share a link.
Indie artists post material on;line so look around and see what you can find.
Indie comic publishers are also doing all they can so why not look around and see what they are posting.
Indie music gets very few breaks to be heard by a wider audience so go look for it and listen.
You never know what you might find and grow to like. Do not sit around in lockdown and get depressed. Keep your mind active and even checkout Face Book groups.
You have a keyboard: use it.
Stay safe and healthy.

So Where Have I Been? (did you just ask "Were you gone?"???)
I will update on Tuesday but in brief I've been editing and publishing and trying to complete the BTC Comic Shop news blog.
In between I have been going insane thanks to the Print on Demand company 'upgrading' its system which deleted books, altered prices and was almost impossible to use.
I made my anger clear after the final "Its all sorted now". I've been told everything should be sorted by this coming Tuesday. Stress. But...I was the moron chose to get into comic publishing.
Hope you are all staying safe and keeping healthy -as someone who has had pneumonia 4 times (last time was fun) and is prone to respiratory infections and Type 2 diabetes I've been told three times now I am in "permanent lockdown until a vaccine is found"....am I under house arrest??? :-) :-)
Just take care whichever part of the world you are in.

What I do between editing books and comics might surprise you..toys oldiers and "other stuff"
Apart from editing and publishing comics (there's a link to the left) and updating the Black Tower blog what have I been up to?
Well, I finally patched up and painted three Ultra Men figures I got as a job lot a few years back. Very delicate plastic but paint and varnish has made them look better. They are about 8" tall and if anyone can tell me WHICH Ultra Men they are (there are a lot) please leave a comment.
Above: original state
Below: all done up...sorry about the gorilla
Also, I finally painted over 100 1/32/54mm Airfix and Atlantic WW 2 Soviet infantry -adapting some damaged ones (using Milliput) for artillerymen.
Then came 120 same Scale Airfix, Atlantic and Britains WW2 Imperial Japanese troops. Milliput was handy again and so the (I think 3 platoons worth of troops) have artillery support.
Guns have since been changed to ones more suitable
Painting up some 1/72 scale tanks and jeeps, converting some 3.75 inch action figures, painting 1/32 scale Afghanistan era Soviet troops (made by Mars), building terrain and buildings and now having used Milliput to repair and adapt some my next paint job is 130 1/32scale Airfix, Britains, Atlantic WW 2 German infantry.
Weapons are 1/32 scale Tamiya but they'll do and I've made a mortar. Also two figures have had home made panzerschreck's added to them for more fire power
Oh and adding to my Medieval 1/32 figures -Timpo solids, Britains, Airfix, Hoefler, Technolog and some other Russian made types.
Yeah, I am also finishing the Monster In My Pocket (MIMP) 1980s figures -I have full sets of the Aliens, Super Scaries as well as Gen 1 and Gen 2 plus decoders and carry/display cases.
I have to stop building terrain as I have temples and buildings for most eras in stacking cases and add the 1/32 scale ones to the 1/72 scale Ihave 9 plastic storage cases and several cardboard boxes.
Eventually, I'll move on to the thousands of 1/72 scale figures -all periods and fantasy...
Who asked if I ever get a game in? No time.
Keeps me busy.

Here's Another One
Another bendy toy. I ot two of these in a job lot with other figures about 4 years back. Posted to toy groups and no one knows anything about them.
I am guessing 1960s/1970s as the rubber is so solid I risk cracking it if I try to bend limbs. Metal armature.
I believe these came with separate weapons and helmets but I wanted to find out more.Again -you know let me know!
He's Green. He's Bendy...
This is one of those bendy (with metal armature) toys and is from the mid 1980s. There were three including one winged but no idea where that is.
Going a crappy dirty green I started to paint it up.
Purchased around the same time as that curio HK or possibly Japanese figure I have no info on it.
Bendy toys were big in the 1970s/1980s and I saw aliens (seemed like anthropomorphic animals) in one newsagents -in a bendy aliens display box. No cash so they looked great but never bought any.
Anyone know whether this was from a specific line?
Ps. I know no one ever bothers responding but you never know!
Mr Dilworth
Placed an order for you today so let me know when it arrives (depending on postal delays etc)

A Few Changes
With continued lack of any kind of support from the thousands who visit CBO on a daily basis the blog will go dormant in September.
A few changes are on the way.
The Black Tower Comics & Books blog as well as Face Book page are set to continue -again, high views but no comments which is okay as they deal with my publishing business. People can still ask questions if they want but I'm not too concerned about none since that seems standard these days.
If I find videos I feel are relevant to Independent comics then I will post them on the blog.
With well over 100 books now on the online store Black Tower is still one of the largesat (the largest) Black and White Independent comic publishers. one change taking place is that The UK's Largest Independent Publisher" will have the "UK" part dropped.
With the new system having been brought online by the Print On Demansd company I use over a week ago there are still problems. I can assuire you that if you check a book out and there is no cover displayed that is purekly an on site problem they are sorting out. ALL of the books are there and can still be ordered.
However, the new book display system of 4 at a time is tedious. For this reason one of my old comic news blogs is being update to the Black Tower Comics Shop News. Eventually all books, their covers and links for ordering will be listed so that the only point you really have to go to the online store is to check out the book preview and order. The Comic Shop News will be a kind of online catalogue supplimenting the onlone store. All for potential customers convenience...but a lot work for me!
Hey, I'm even posting a link to the BTC&B blog and vice versa so I am making this all very easy for you who are interested.
I will announce when the Comic Shop News blog is open later in the week.
