Identified as a former Chechen guerrilla fighter, Najah has been arrested by the FSB, the successor to the old KGB, and sent to a prison colony in Siberia – the infamous gulag. Isolated, hated by the Russian guards, the Insider is far from the luxury life her cover inside organised crime afforded her.
Meanwhile, the power plays continue between the mafia, politicians and the intelligence services of Russia, the United States ... and elsewhere.
There is one thing you can say about European comic album series: women get as rough a time as the men.
It's a pity that all the talk of Jessica Alba playing the role of Najah in a movie came to nothing. I think it would have been an excellent choice to show she can act. We know Bartoll and Garreta put together a finely written and paced as well as drawn book. This is no exception.
Fast paced, story twists and excellent art which is what you need because this can get quite brutal!
