Children of the Atom -COTA

Okay, it was not a question on this blog but someone asked about a 1983 strip (there were several) featuring the group COTA -Children of the Atom and asked where I got the name.

Basically there was a story in an old Charlton comic that featured a lot of "mutant"/freaky kids being looked after in a haunted house. That was where I got the concept of the various youngsters being looked after as separate groups by two brothers. COTA came about as my brother was a big science fiction fan -I preferred factual and science but had a huge collection of spy books going from the 1930s-1980s (I sold the lot when I really needed the cash). The cover of Wilmar Shiras's book Children of the Atom caught my eye -never read i9t but liked the title!

Frank Kelly Freas’ cover for the 1st edition of Children of the Atom (1953)

And that is how I got the name. Judging by the cover of the book it's about cats?
