PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.
Thank You

THE BALLAD OF RENÉ GOSCINNY an Update Comment

This is something very few people outside of Franco-Belgian comics knows about.

Moebius was ashamed of the part he played in this affair and when I briefly chatted to him at a UK Comic Art Convention in the 1980s his response was that it was "a painful memory".

As someone who has been "ambushed" twice over the years (on both occasions the alleged intentions were to thank me for work I had done) I can tell you that it is not something a  quiet and shy man (like Goscinny) can face without being hit hard.

Read the books about certain people who were in UK comics and their accounts of how brilliant they were -as well as innovative- are pure lies as they try to re-write history. I was there. I met them. I had long conversations with some of them and, yes, some of them scuppered projects by going to board members behind managing editors' backs and even ran off with money from the company supposedly paid to me for scripts (well documented elsewhere).

The Comics industry (even though it does not really exist in the UK anymore)  is full of lying, two faced and back stabbing bastards -believe me I have seen the lot on 40 odd years. That smile, hand shake and pat on the back can be the proverbial kiss of death (no tongues involved!).
