Some of you, I know, believe that once you make it in comics you are secure. You are not. Take William Messner Loebs for example. At one time he was a name that attracted a lot of fan interest. A few times I have searched online wondering what he is doing now -independent work? Editorial?
Last night someone sent me the link to this Fox 2 news item. I could have cried. Where were DC or Marvel or fellow creators to help out one of the old boys? Comics companies do not give a shit about creators once they stop earning them money. Other creators do not give a fuck (seriously, they do not). Someone in the Small Press sent me this item.
Just so sad. Here is the article:
You ask why I keep on about creators rights and creators being treated like shit?
Why do I get so angry about it? This is fucking why!
This is how creators have always been treated and do you know what? You alleged 'comic fans' do not give a shit so long as you get whatever garbage Marvel or DC pushes at you. And the fellow creators just don't give a shit either -while they are earning.
Get some humanity and think about these people not just about what you want.
Marvel and DC -FUCK YOU BOTH.
