I'm re-posting this item by George Maris on hubub because it mirrors a few questions I have. I know Steve Moffat has mocked viewers who talk about little continuity but major issues seem to be just tossed aside. Oh, and Clara was a baby-sitter originally and told her wards about her adventures -what happened there? Where are they?
Oh, and I am even willing to forget that AWFUL "the Moon is an egg" episode!!!

Anyway:
Will the Impossible Girl Please Stand UP!!!!!
It is easy to fall in love with a character that sacrifices her whole existence for another person. I mean what is not to love!!!???
In this new season, she is feisty still for sure and endearing as usually but there seems to chemistry issue with this new Doctor.
I have now acclimatized to this Doctor. It was a little harder this time, because the previous Doctors were always quirky geniuses that always had a plan or an answer.
This Doctor seems more confused and angry than the man with plan like the others. However now, he seems to have found a decent tempo and he is played by an excellent actor in Capaldi.
But there is definitely something off in the chemistry between Clara and the Doctor.
It may also be how Clara's character seems to have gone in an odd direction. It is almost like the writers forgot who she was in the previous season.
How did Clara go from the impossible girl to a simple school teacher just there to be a moral compass of sorts. She was the girl that saved the Doctor throughout his lives, arguable the most powerful man in the universe. Where is that girl?
And then this instant love interest for Danny Pink, especially confusing when she was madly in love with Matt Smith's Doctor? At the very least there should be some period where she reconciles her feeling before jumping into a new relationship. I just don't see the chemistry.
Unless, My Pink is a future incarnation of the Doctor but stuck in the past, someway, somehow. Which is an interesting theory, considering Capaldi's last statement in the Caretaker episode where Danny reference the Doctor just wanted to know if Pink was a 'good man'. How did Mr Pink know that was what the Doctor was thinking. And the instant hostility between the two. The Doctor's constant question to himself is, 'Am I a good man?'
Did they really escape from the Time Winds, where she sacrificed herself. That was never explained how they escaped. It seemed too easy.
I am also half wondering if this is really farewell Clara. The Mirror ran the story but there is no confirmation. It could explain the chemistry issue. The chemistry between Matt Smith's Doctor and Clara's was truly remarkable. Like Tom Baker's Doctor and Sarah Jane.
Clara Quits
And where does Danny fit in. So far, outside of his odd super jump in the 'Caretaker' not sure why we should care about him. I definitely don't see the chemistry between Danny and Clara. It seems too contrived and just acted.
And I would have trouble accepting Danny as the new companion. He is just missing that champion stuff found in the previous companions.
Regardless, I am sold on this new Doctor. After a slow start, he has found his stride.

Capaldi as Doctor Who, I get it...but what the heck happened to Clara Oswin Oswald?
