PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.
Thank You

Jan Steeman 23rd May 1933 – 24th January 2018

Loss of yet another European comic book great. Condolences to his family.

Steeman photographed next to Patty Klein whose own career spans 50 years hence her title of  "the grande Dame of Dutch Comics"

Dutch comics artist Jan Steeman has died at the age of 74 to kidney failure.

Steeman was best known for his football (soccer) comic book Roel Dijkstra and bumbling teenage girl Noortje (published in in Tina). Noortje ran for more than 41 years, making it the longest-running Dutch comic strip by one and the same artist.
