PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.
Thank You

Event Layout -Where To Find Black Tower

Just a quick note. I'll be at table 35 for the event.  However, having thought about it I will not be taking the Maakika A4 art pieces not the postcard sets to sell.

The reason for this is simply that I do not think that anyone is going to be interested at a book and comic expo.  I don't want to cart a lot of excess items to sell.  No one has shown any interest in buying pieces any way (even though I've received more praise for them than my comic work grrrrrrrrrrrr).

But if you were going to the event to buy pieces then please let me know and I'll take a full set of art and postcards.

To be honest it's going to be hard work selling enough to cover costs at a one day event so I'm gonna hunker down behind a table!!

I should -I have no 100% confirmation yet- be assisted by Darron Northall so if the person behind the table doesn't have a beard and screams at you it's not me!

  1. Well... I won't jinx it by wishing you good luck - so "Break a leg" as they say - and thank you for all the hard work.

  2. Seriously, I DO NOT need to "break a leg" -mine are in enough of a mess as it is. You uncaring swine! Spend the weekend at my place and then its "I'm just popping out to Clacton for a newspaper, deary" and....nothing for almost thirty years. You and your Bruce Springsteen records!!!

  3. Oh. Just thinking -was that YOU or Cipprian??

  4. Who is Cipprian ? As for Bruce Springsteen - that couldn't have been me ... and as for no contact for almost thirty years ... Sorry. I've been tooling around with an old Chinese brush of mine and having some fun with it. Hopefully I'll be able to send on the work near Christmas. Let me know until when I can send it.

  5. Cypprian or Sylvain. Old British gangster joke. Laurie O'Leary, author of A Man Among Men was summoned to Broadmoor by Ronnie Kray weeks before his death to write the "warts and all" true Kray story. Kray was told by Ronnie -these are EXACT words I used so get worried:"Don't make me into a nice person,' he told O'Leary. 'Just say I was nice with nice people, but a bastard with bastards.'
A bit more of a quote.

The biography, containing previously unpublished photographs and poems by the twins, describes how Ronnie had considered bringing an Arab boy back to London after falling in love with him while on holiday, and how he refused to hide his sexual preferences from the law or his fellow gangsters.

O'Leary, who grew up next door to the Kray brothers, was a pallbearer at Reggie Kray's funeral on 11 October last year.

'Ron discussed his homosexuality with only a very few people, but put simply it was a part of his nature he discovered, explored and enjoyed,' O'Leary said. 'He was at ease with it. It did not seem to conflict with his "tough guy" image or cause him any problems on any level.'

Apparently Ronnie would introduce the bosses to his latest good looking boy and ask "Isn't he lovely?" How many do you think replied "He's a bleedin poof! You queer, Ron?" I'd say no one. So "Cyprian" or one of those trendy 1960s names refers to "Ronnie's boy" (whichever).

Mr Brown got back from Tokyo last week. He is in LOVE with Japan. Claims he never saw Godzilla the day he was there but did see Mt Fujiyama. He wants to go back. meh. Stop playing with your Chinese brush "Let me know until when I can send it"??? Oh, do you mean UK delivery (post)? Usually last post in Christmas Eve to 2nd January. Or are you going to send me the Chinese brush?? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
