Actor Geoffrey Lewis dies

US actor Geoffrey Lewis, best known for his appearances alongside Clint Eastwood in such films as Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Bronco Billy and Every Which Way But Loose, has died at the age of 79.
Lewis, whose daughter Juliette followed him into the acting profession, died on Tuesday in Woodland Hills, California.

A staunch Scientologist, Lewis was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1980 for the TV comedy series Flo.

In a moving post on Twitter, Juliette Lewis wrote "no amount of tears" could wash away her grief at losing her "hero".
