Valerian, shot to death in an Indian fortress. Valerian, dead in 19th century London. Valerian, gunned down in San Francisco’s Chinatown… And Laureline, paired up with an unpleasantly arrogant historian from Galaxity, forced to witness every demise of the man she loves on a succession of re-enacted pieces of human history. A very strange case that will take the two spatio-temporal agents to the limits of their endurance as they hunt down the mysterious architect of the false Earths….

Great cover and a great opening battle sequence in Victorian India. But...Valerian dead??? And Valerian dead??? And, oh my gods -Valerian dead???

Yep, old Uncle Terry's brain was not working properly so I sat down and read this gem again. Valerian dead???

Reading this I remembered WHY I had such fond memories of Valerian and Laureline -in the 'original' German of course.  This is a great series that gets better with each book and now English readers can get the whole series not just three old 1980s volumes.

Great sci fi.
