News from Karen Rubins...
Dear All,
Daniel Hartwell and I are making more of those spooky horror strips for The Phoenix – now under the title of The Shivers. Our latest is GHOUL BUS, in issue 114, about a bad boy and an even badder bus. Coming up very soon, so keep your eyes peeled, will be SWEET TOOTH, where people start acting very strangely after a new sweet shop opens in town...
Dear All,
Time for a springtime update on what's going on in
my world of comics!
Previous Shivers can be found in issues 83, 89,
and 95.
This year I am running no less than twenty-one
comics workshops over the month of April as part of CityRead
London. CityRead London aims to get all Londoners reading the
same book, this year both books are WW1 themed to coincide
with the centenary of the start of the war. My comics
workshops will be focusing on propaganda posters.
"Your Country Needs You ... To Make Comics!" is
for children aged 8 – 12 and workshops are happening all over
London. Please check my website calendar
for all the details, and look on the CityRead website
for more events and to search for local events to you.
There is also a blog post up on the Forbidden
Planet
Blog with more info about the workshops.
CONVENTIONS
I will have a table at both MCM London in May and
the Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October. If
you're at either of those, please stop by and say hello!
