Do you know, I think I've fallen in love with the Modesty Blaise strip all over again. The reproduction of the collected newspaper strips is, as I've noted before, far better than when they appeared in newspapers and the design of the book is lovely.
Action, intrigue, a few male chauvenist pigs beaten up, gun-play, fights and to add to all of this the superb black and white work of the great Romero.
Seriously, these books are made up of what were thought of as "throw-away" newspaper strips but combined you can finally enjoy the full stories and realise they should have been thought of as anything but "throw-away"!
