Take a look at the stats below. They are the all time (so since 2011) viewing stats for the Anomalous Observational Phenomena blog ~link on the blog roll.
Impressive. People with enquiring minds you might think?
Here is the thing though: the blog gets 0 comments. Seven years and nothing. And despite the mystery books having exclusive material including photographs and more thought to have been lost a century or more ago....only 4 of those enquiring minds has ever purchased one of the books.
People have been leaving digital media for real, solid, printed books. However those books tend to be from mainstream companies. As I found out, publishing companies want to just make the money and they try everything to make a book sensationalist. That makes it "sexy" and sellable. New generation of editors who laugh at people believing what they publish ~"spin it for the knob~heads (readers)!" I have personally heard a few times.
Whether you are talking comics, graphic novels or prose publishing, the little Independent never does well.
I mention this as two people who want to break into book publishing got in touch for advice. I told them that if you can have millions of blog readers and push books through numerous social media and still can't sell ...well, they had to have a plan before publishing. Publishing a book and then asking "what now?" is not the way to do it.
There are no guarantees and I am not here to sort out your business plan! Plan before publishing.
