A reboot of the "Kick-Ass" movie franchise? Is Hollywood so lacking in originality these days that it follows in the foot steps of comic books?
Remake Starsky & Hutch....as an action comedy
Remake: Green Hornet...as an action comedy
Remake The Man From U.N.C.L.E.....as an action comedy.
There is a long list of such movies. Why don't they just remake Jurassic Park but with more special effects and more humans for the donis to kill and.....oh. Right.

Fans
of Matthew Vaughn’s ‘Kick-Ass’ can rejoice as the director has
confirmed plans to return to the series with not one, but TWO films.
Speaking
to Yahoo Movies about the home entertainment release of ‘Kingsman: The
Secret Service’, Vaughn revealed that he’s “not happily done with the
franchise” and has his sights set on re-booting the cult hit.
“We’re working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit Girl and Big Daddy become Hit Girl and Big Daddy,” he said.
“If
we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that
didn’t like ‘Kick-Ass 2’ and then we can go off and make ‘Kick-Ass 3’.
“I think we’ve got to do this prequel to regain the love that we had with ‘Kick-Ass’.”
You can watch the full video above where Vaughn also reveals he wants to make a comedy sci-fi film.
So what they are basically doing is to make a movie out of parts from the HIT GIRL comic ? And what´s the big news story here ?
ReplyDeleteThe big news? That they'll "need a new young hottie for Hit Girl" to quote one forum I came across. Seriously: "Chloe is too old now but she looked smokin in that schoolgirl outfit" and very similar comments and these are from men in their 20s-40s. I could write a VERY long post about this but it is so seedy and not just in comic related fandom -the young girl who dances (incredibly) in the Sia videos -same sort of comments backed up by photo shoot images that, if I had a daughter, I would be VERY uncomfortable with. But, basically, they ran out of ideas -since when have film makers listened to what fans say.....I cite the new Fantastic Four movie!
