On the shelf featuring the ever increasing membership of the Society for the Suppression of Crime and guests the newest additions are The Mass and Acro Maid.
The Mass appeared in a 1990s 25pp strip and was a very slight parody of the Hulk. Long story. Anyway, he was converted from the bald fella seen behind Old Master Q, Mr Potato and Mr Chin on my Manhua/Manga shelf. The figure I know now is a Street Fighter Red Seth (4").
The Acro Maid figure is converted from a Marvel Kenner retro style Invisible Woman using milliput to sculpt hair and card for a belt and red tissue coated in PVA (wood) glue.
Currently working on other UK Golden age characters Cat Girl, Phantom Maid , Electro Girl and The Phantom Raider.

Nice to see Acro Maid up there, representing for Dennis Reader... and Catgirl on the way.... her whip, cape and mesh will be a challenge - along with her highly styled swirly hair ! Good luck with that ! Nice to see the D-Gruppe post. It brings back memories... Just like the Prof, when I get outta here I'll have to do something to make some more. There's not enough D-Gruppe short strips in the world... Have to remedy that... hmmm.... Seeya Terry - know you're not so interested, but good luck to the English ladies soccer team tomorrow in the World Cup final. Should be a good game!
ReplyDeleteHa !! Just noticed ve good the Sloper ( sans chapeau ) figure to the far right of the photos. What a team-up that would make ! Acro Maid, The Mass and Ally Sloper ! Their Villains ? A team of super dextrous, ex-circus strongmen hell bent on taking over the London docks gangland where Ally happens to be staying - and using it as a base of operations for an empire wide narcotics ring ! HAHAHA ! League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen ? PAH ! The SSC ! For the Empire !!...yes, nurse.... I'll take my medication, now...have a good day Terry. Seeya.
