There’s no denying Gomer’s genius. Mechanics, botany, chemistry, zoology, musicology … His brain is capable of sudden brilliance in everything at which he tries his hand. The problem is that, brilliant or not, his inventions are never quite right for either the time, or the place. 

Which leads to disaster after disaster, fuelling his colleagues’ aggravation. Fortunately, he still has the loyalty of his cat and gull – and the unfailing affection of Miss Jeanne … 

It won't mean a lot to people out there but there was a Gerald Swan character in the 1940s/1950s called Tuffy who got to try a certain nutty Prof's various inventions including one that made him a giant. In this case Gomer does the inventing and creates the problems himself.  Nice clean artwork in some very busy panels but a joy to read and we need more of that right now.

As always -a treat for youngsters of all ages which is the type of thing Cinebook loves to dish out (and there are seven other self contained books!)
