PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.

Well, if you are a big Stan Lee fan then you no doubt really want to get to a convention to see him (he keeps missing Bristol!).

So does the Salt Lake Comic Con have a treat for you!

We promised a BIG Marvel announcement, so here it is! Welcome comic book legend and Salt Lake Comic Con 2013 alumni, Stan Lee! He's known to the world as one of the most important and iconic figures in comic book history and "king" of the comic con circuit. Collaborating with several artists (most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko), Stan co-created many of the most celebrated characters including Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, The Incredible Hulk , Thor, Iron Man, Daredevil, Doctor Strange and more.

Stan Lee photo ops and autographs go on sale TOMORROW at 12PM (MST) at www.SaltLakeComicCon.com.

Stan is credited with introducing complexity, naturalism and a thoroughly shared universe to the superhero comic book world. He revolutionized the relationship between reader and hero, creating a sense of community and empathy to real-world problems that had previously been unexplored. Spider-Man, one of the most renowned characters of Stan’s co-creation started as a syndicated newspaper strip. It became the most successful of all syndicated adventure strips and has appeared in more than five-hundred newspapers worldwide. Stan currently remains Chairman Emeritus of Marvel, as well as a member of the Editorial Board of Marvel Comics, and the Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of POW! Entertainment.
