Marvel Comics The Union No More

Well, Empyre was, apparently, to have been Marvels "Major Event" of 2020.  As some comic journoes called it "Marvel Universe re-tweaking"  (we call it another reboot but whayt the heck).

Fantastic Four and Avengers I get and at the moment the 6 issue Empyre series.  However, there was one new series I was very intertested in: The Union. Marvel's new British super hero team written by Paul Grist.

It was cancelled. Along with 17 other tie-in titles.

Yep, Marvel can come up with ten or more variant covers at a time but, even with the current pandemic, 18 titles cancelled.  This has led many to ask How the event will end? Well, follow the main title and the Avengers/FF tie-ins, dummy.

No one seems to be asking or pointing at the obvious here.  If 18 titles were "key tie-ins" for Empyre just how key are they that they can just be cancelled?  The answer is, obviously, that they were not "key" at all but listed as such to get schmucks to buy them and the no doubt numerous variant covers and put money in Disney's account.

If they were key story points then the whole of Empyre should have been cancelled because either Marvel is making everyone waste their money on a pointless series with no ending or...we get to see a prime example of Marvel showing its true face as money leeches where giving readers a story from start to finish does not matter so long as that money comes in.

People jhave speculated that the 18 titles will be published in September. That would be pointless as the event would be over. Nothing more than a money grab.

The Union is the title I'll miss -I'm guessing if it does re-appear later on there will need to be re-writes.

So, if you want real British superhero action -head to the Black Tower online store!
